Q1: Can I sit in on a support group as part of my training?

We often get this question, but sitting in on a support group is not possible. Our support groups are confidential and cohesive units that form a bond over several months. Students (or other visitors) are not permitted.

Q2: Can I survey CRCFL clients for my research or class project?

We routinely receive requests from students and researchers to help recruit clients for various studies or projects. In order to protect confidentiality, CRCFL does not divulge client information (including contact information) for any reason.

Q3: Can a person from CRCFL speak to my class/organization?

Yes! We enjoy speaking with classes and organizations at area colleges and high schools. To arrange a speaker, contact us at 607-277-0960 or info@crcfl.net.

Q4: Do you accept interns?

Yes. We often have interns. Many of our interns have a personal connection with breast cancer and/or a strong commitment to working with women’s health issues. Interns rarely have direct client contact. They provide office support, work with special events, research and write articles, and more. For more information and to arrange an interview, contact Sharon Kaplan at 607-277-0960 or at sharon@crcfl.net.

Q5. What about volunteering on my own?

We regularly have student volunteers from Cornell, Ithaca College, TC3, SUNY-Cortland, and elsewhere. We value their enthusiasm, hard work, and willingness to do what needs to be done. But please be aware of the following:

Q6: Is there bus service from my college to CRCFL?

Yes. A major TCAT bus stop (the State Street Stop) is one block from our office.

Q7: Is parking available at CRCFL?

Metered parking is available on State Street. There is also a municipal parking lot on Buffalo St., across from Joe's Restaurant.
